OnePlus 13: The Flagship Killer Reimagined for Under ₹70,000

OnePlus 13: OnePlus has taken its number series from “flagship killer” to “flagship” status. But earlier every year it was lacking in some area or the other. Now with the launch of OnePlus 13, the company’s first “complete flagship” phone has come to the market, which competes with premium devices like Samsung and Apple

OnePlus 13

This phone is ₹5,000 more expensive than the previous model, but comes with new features like IP68 and IP69 protection, ultrasonic fingerprint sensor, Snapdragon 8 Elite processor, bigger battery and support for MagSafe accessories. I tested this phone in the last 15 days, and this is my review.

OnePlus 13: Unboxing and Design

The OnePlus 13 comes in a red-colored box with “13” written on top. Inside the box, apart from the phone, you get a 100W SUPERVOOC adapter, a Type-A to Type-C cable, SIM ejector pin, a black case and some documentation.

Small changes have been made in the design which make it premium and compact. Hasselblad branding is now on the side of the camera module, and the curved display has been removed and made flat, which improves grip. OnePlus’ iconic alert slider and IR blaster are still present.

The ultrasonic fingerprint sensor is very fast, and with IP68 + IP69 rating, the phone can last up to 30 minutes in 1.5 meter water. The phone weighs just 213g, which is 10 grams less than the previous model, but still feels a bit bulky.

OnePlus 13: Display and Battery

OnePlus 13 has a 6.82-inch QHD+ 120Hz AMOLED display, whose peak brightness goes up to 4,500 nits. The new BOE X2 2K+ quad-curved panel and LTPO 4.1 technology have been used.

The color accuracy and viewing angles of the display are outstanding. Even in bright outdoor conditions, this phone provides better brightness than Vivo X200 and iQOO 13.

Talking about the battery, the big 6,000mAh battery supports 100W wired and 50W wireless charging. There is also support for MagSafe accessories, which sets it apart from the competition. The battery easily lasts for 1.5-2 days on moderate use, and a day of backup is enough for heavy users.

OnePlus 13: Software and Performance

With the Snapdragon 8 Elite processor, this phone is one level up in raw performance. It comes with Oxygen OS 15 which is based on Android 15, and comes with 4 years of OS updates and 6 years of security patches.

The new OxygenOS 15 brings features like smoother animations, faster app loading and Dynamic Island. But there is still an adware issue, which is disappointing for a flagship phone.

OnePlus 13: Camera Performance

The OnePlus 13 has a 50MP primary sensor, 50MP ultra-wide and 50MP telephoto lens. The primary camera is decent, but struggles in night mode and artificial lighting.

Selfie camera performance is average, and lags behind the Vivo X200. Macro shots are impressive, but zoom performance becomes weak after 15x.

Conclusion

At the ₹70,000 price point, the OnePlus 13 is a balanced flagship phone that offers premium design, large battery backup, and long-term software support. An IP69 rating and ultrasonic fingerprint sensor are standout features. But improving the selfie camera and night photography will be a must for the next model.

If you’re looking for an Android flagship that can take on Samsung and Apple, the OnePlus 13 is a solid option!
