New UPI Services: Now you will not need PIN or password while making UPI payments through Google Pay, PhonePe, Paytm. NPCI had launched the UPI Lite service some time back. New rules for this have been implemented from 1 November. Now users will get higher limit for making payments as compared to earlier.

From 1 November new rules have been implemented for UPI through Google Pay, PhonePe, Paytm. NPCI has increased the transaction limit of UPI Lite. Along with this, auto top-up facility for wallet has also been started. The special thing about UPI Lite is that through it you will be able to make UPI payments without PIN and password. UPI payment is considered the most preferred payment method for Indian users. Last year, India created a new record in UPI payments.

You can keep a maximum of Rs 2,000 in UPI Lite wallet and can transact up to Rs 500 at a time. NPCI has launched this service for those people who also use UPI for small payments. You can fill money in UPI Lite wallet from your bank account for small payments. When the balance of your first UPI Lite wallet gets exhausted, you can recharge it manually. NPCI has also introduced auto top-up feature in it from November 1.

As soon as the balance of your UPI Lite account gets low, it will be automatically topped up from your bank account. But, the government has imposed another limit for UPI Lite, in which users can top-up their account a maximum of 5 times in a day, meaning a total of up to Rs 10,000 can be topped up.

It is very easy to enable UPI Lite in payment apps like Google Pay, PhonePe or Paytm. For this, you have to open these apps and tap on the icon with your profile picture. As soon as you tap on the icon, you will see the PIN free UPI Lite option below. Now, you can activate the UPI Lite service by following the instructions given on the phone screen.
