Popular Mollywood actor Minu Muneer made the most recent charges, accusing four co-stars of “physical and verbal assaults” over the years.
Minu Muneer has claimed that a number of people, including a former Kerala Assembly legislator for the CPI(M), have physically and verbally abused her.
Muneer accused Mukesh, Maniyanpilla Raju, Idavela Babu, and Jayasurya of verbally and physically abusing her during filming a 2013 film in a Facebook post.
The charges were made just one day after Malayalam filmmaker Ranjith quit from Kerala Chalachitra Academy as chairwoman. Bengali actress Sreelekha Mitra accused Ranjith of “misconduct.” The Association of Malayalam Movie Artistes (AMMA) General Secretary Siddique also resigned. Actor Siddique was the target of accusations of sexual assault made by junior artist Revathy Sampath.

A well-known Malyalam actor was accused by Minu Muneer of trying to attack her at a hotel while they were filming “Calender” (2009) and “Nadakame Ulakam” (2011).
“After coming in, he dragged me onto the bed and told me that I would have to give those who needed to be given more consideration a chance. I left the place later. Before that, (another actor) promised to visit my room the following night as we were traveling by car. He had also knocked on my door in the middle of the night, she said, according to Indian Express.
In 2008, she also charged misbehavior against a third actor.
“I was coming from the bathroom during a shooting in the state capital when Jayasurya snatched me from behind and kissed me. I shoved him aside and took off. He also asked me to his apartment. There was no problem on his end after I turned down the invitation, she claimed.
Regarding the purported misconduct of Idavela Babu, a well-known leader of the Association of Malayalam Movie Artistes (AMMA), Minu stated that she had submitted an application to join the organization in 2013.
An actor who has appeared in three motion pictures can become an AMMA member. He invited me to his apartment when I contacted him to ask questions about filling out the application. He planted a kiss on the back of my neck as I was filling out the application at his apartment. I bolted from the apartment. “I also did not receive the membership,” she remarked.
The performer claimed that because of her “bitter experiences,” she was compelled to migrate to Chennai and quit the Malayalam cinema industry.
The performers who have been mentioned have not yet addressed these particular accusations in public. One of the people Muneer accused, actor Maniyanpilla Raju, has asked for a comprehensive probe into the claims. He asserts that the charges made against him might be motivated by a number of special interests.
