It has frequently been observed that the government of various states in the nation makes significant announcements for women on this joyous occasion. On the day of Rakshabandhan, UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath bestowed upon women the gift of free bus transportation. In addition, the government of Madhya Pradesh has made a significant announcement regarding LPG cylinders. The government will directly benefit the women of MP from this.

The chief minister of Madhya Pradesh, Mohan Yadav, had mentioned a few days prior that the “Laadli Behna Yojana” will provide LPG cylinders for Rs 450. According to CM Mohan Yadav, 40 lakh Ladli sisters in the state will receive gas cylinders at a cost of Rs 450 if they currently have gas cylinders under the Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yoj ana (PMUY) program or not. The government also provides the eligible sisters with Rs 1250 each month under this initiative. However, instead of offering Rs. 1250 this time, the Chief Minister has mentioned giving Rs. 1500. In other words, 250 rupees more than previously.

On Rakshabandhan earlier in 2023, Prime Minister Narendra Modi presented a sizable gift to every LPG consumer (33 crore connections) during the government’s second term. As a result, each LPG cylinder was now priced at Rs 200 less. The cost of a 14.2 kg cylinder in Delhi decreased from Rs 1103 to Rs 903 following this decision.

After that, the Modi administration once more declared a Rs 100 decrease in the cylinder cost on March 8, 2024, in honor of Women’s Day. Thus, the cost of an LPG cylinder in Delhi stayed at Rs 803. The government provides a subsidy of Rs 300 to the Ujjwala Yojana recipients. The effective rate of this cylinder drops to Rs 503 for them in such a scenario.
