Google has once again shown the magic of creativity on its homepage with an interactive doodle game celebrating December’s final Half Moon (Aadhi Raatri Chand) on Sunday, December 22.

The game shows the halfway point between the new and full moon phases and gives users a fun way to learn about lunar cycles. In this doodle game, participants have to match different phases of the moon to form a full moon pair, phase pair or lunar cycle of three.

The game starts with a short introduction explaining the importance of December’s Half Moon, followed by a fun challenge for users.

“This interactive Doodle celebrates December’s final Half Moon! This monthly recurring card game invites you to play with the moon and test your knowledge of the lunar cycle,” Google wrote in the description of the lunar phase doodle.

“You’re about to be over the (half) moon with this new Doodle game series! Join this celestial card game where players must connect phases of the lunar cycle to earn points and play against the December Half Moon,” Google added.

It is worth noting that the eight lunar phases come in this order: New Moon, Waxing Crescent, First Quarter, Waxing Gibbous, Full Moon, Waning Gibbous, Third Quarter, and Waning Crescent. This cycle is repeated every month (every 29.5 days).

The Google Doodle is visible all over the world, and users can also download Half Moon Rises wallpapers from the website. The special thing is that Google also gave games on the same theme in October and November this year, which were named Rise Of The Half Moon.
