Digital Life Certificate: Every year in November, almost 68 lakh senior citizens who receive government pensions must turn in their life certificates. The digital life certificate service has also been launched in order to guarantee that senior citizens do not encounter any difficulties when submitting their life certificates. The government has decided that visits to senior citizens’ homes will be used to give digital certificates this year. The postal service’s services will be used for this.
Digital Life Certificate: Senior citizens’ certificates of survival must be submitted annually. For their convenience, the government has made the Digital Life Certificate (DLC) submission option available. However, one must visit a cybercafé or public facilities center for this as well. The Department of Posts has now offered assistance to seniors in submitting digital certificates from the comfort of their own homes. The elderly will receive this service at home from the Postal Department. There are currently 68 lakh pensioners in the nation that are solely affiliated with the Central Government. This number will rise dramatically if state government pensions are included in addition to these.
Digital Life Certificate: The national campaign will be launched.
This information was obtained from a formal announcement released on Friday by the Central Government’s Department of Personnel and Training (DOPT). The Department of Pension and Pensioners Welfare (DOPPW) has agreed to conduct DLC Abhiyan 3.0 in all district headquarters and large cities nationwide from November 1–30, 2024, which makes this step crucial. Remarkably, on September 12, 2024, V Srinivas, Secretary (DOPPW), called a preparatory meeting for DLC Campaign 3.0 in all District Post Offices. Sanjay Sharan, Director General Postal Services; Rajul Bhatt, Deputy Director General Posts; and R. Vishwaswaran, Managing Director (MD) and Chief Executive Officer (CEO), India Post Payments Bank (IPPB), were also present.
Digital Life Certificate: There will be a DLC campaign in post offices.
The District Post Offices will carry out DLC Campaign 3.0 in district post offices in cooperation with Pensioner Welfare Associations, Pension Disbursing Banks, and Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDIA), according to a statement released by the Ministry of Personnel. According to the statement, “Pensioners can use face authentication from Android smart phones to submit Jeevan Pramaan Patra (DLC) in district post offices.”
Digital Life Certificate: Home service will be offered.
Digital Life Certificate: Who is going to handle the technical support?
According to a Central Government release, technical support for the camps would be provided by UIDAI and the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology. The statement said, “It is anticipated that the partnership will expand and enhance the Government’s efforts towards digital empowerment of seniors and greatly contribute towards making their lives easier.”
The program was conducted in 100 cities last year.
DLC Abhiyan 2.0 was held at 100 cities throughout the nation in 2023. 1.45 crore pensioners had made DLC deposits in this. This year, the program has been expanded to include all district offices and major American cities. As a result, it’s anticipated that this campaign will deposit more DLCs than it did last year.
