Amrit Bharat Express: A new journey with Indian Railways

Amrit Bharat Express: Indian Railways serves lakhs of passengers every day through more than 12,000 trains. Railways is not only improving its stations but also introducing better facilities with new trains. In the last 10 years, many new trains like Vande Bharat, Tejas, Humsafar and Amrit Bharat have come on the tracks. Now Railways is planning to make the journey easy for those general class passengers, who often travel long distances by sitting.

Amrit Bharat Express: A new experience like Vande Bharat

Railways Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw told Parliament that after testing Amrit Bharat trains in passenger operations for 10 months, it has been decided to launch 50 more such trains. He said, “A new train has been developed, named Amrit Bharat Train. This train is completely non-AC. Out of its 22 coaches, 20 are for passengers and 2 for parcels. These 20 coaches have 10 sleeper and 10 general coaches. This train is based on Vande Bharat technology, such as automatic couplers, better quality seats, charging points, new toilet designs and noise-free experience.”

Amrit Bharat trains are equipped with modern state-of-the-art technology, which gives passengers an advanced travel experience. It has features like semi-permanent couplers which do not jerk, horizontal sliding windows, foldable snack table and bottle holders, mobile holders. Indian Railways has introduced these new technology services at the beginning of this year itself, which make the journey even more convenient.

Amrit Bharat Express: High Demand on Non-AC

Amrit Bharat train is a LHB push-pull train which comes with non-air-conditioned coaches. This train has locos on both ends which improves acceleration. Its running mechanism is similar to Vande Bharat Express

• 15557/58 Darbhanga–Anand Vihar (T) Express

• 13433/13434 Malda Town – Sir M. Visvesvaraya Terminus (Bengaluru) Express

Amrit Bharat Express: Relief for poor people

Express trains have 2-3 coaches for general class passengers which ply on long-distance routes, like Delhi to Darbhanga. But with Amrit Bharat trains, every train has 10 general class coaches and 10 sleeper coaches.
