Two sections of Delhi-Dehradun Expressway are ready for inauguration. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate it. Time has been sought from PMO. It is likely to be inaugurated in the last week of December or the first week of January, before the announcement of elections.
The total length of both sections is 32 km. 17 km of the Delhi section is elevated and the remaining 15 km is in Ghaziabad and Baghpat border. Its work was divided into two sections. The Expressway is connected to the Eastern Peripheral Expressway at Mavikala village near Baghpat. Work on both sections has been completed
Delhi-Dehradun Expressway: NHAI’s preparation
NHAI has completed all the preparations for the inauguration. During the recent testing, the load was checked by driving heavy vehicles and no flaw was found. Safety audit has also been completed and the expressway fully meets the safety standards. Remaining tests have also been completed successfully.
Delhi-Dehradun Expressway: Ready from Akshardham to Baghpat:
This expressway goes from Akshardham to Laxminagar, Geeta Colony, Lohe Ka Pul (Kailash Colony), Shastri Park New Usmanpur, Kartarnagar, Khajuri Khas Chowk, Biharipur, Ankur Vihar, Sharda City, Pavi Pushta (Loni), Mandola NBCC Township and connects with Eastern Peripheral in Mavikala of Baghpat. Eastern Peripheral is already connected to Delhi-Meerut Expressway.
NHAI Chairman did the inspection: NHAI Chairman Santosh Yadav recently inspected the expressway. He instructed the officials to install signboards at several places. All these works have to be done before the inauguration. All the work will be completed in 10 days. This project was to be completed in 2023, but the work on both sections of the expressway got delayed. The date for completion of the first work was 31 March, after which dates were fixed for 15 May and 15 August.
Delhi-Dehradun Expressway: Preparations for inauguration from Prime Minister
According to sources, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the Delhi-Dehradun Expressway. Union Minister Nitin Gadkari will also be with him. The date of inauguration will be decided by the PMO. The inauguration of the Expressway will take place before the announcement of the Delhi Assembly elections.
NHAI Project Director Dheeraj Singh said, “Two sections of the Delhi-Dehradun Expressway are ready for inauguration. The inauguration is expected in the last week of December or the first week of January, before the announcement of the Delhi Assembly elections. The complete inspection of the Expressway has been done and no flaw has been found anywhere.”
