New Honda Amaze : Honda is going to announce the price of its third-generation Amaze sedan in India on 4 December. Faced with tough competition from the fourth-generation model of the Maruti Suzuki Dzire, the upcoming Honda Amaze will be an upgraded version of the car launched in 2018.
The earlier teaser image showed the front end of the car which is similar to the design of the new Honda cars. Now we have design sketches which clarify the complete car. Looking at the sketches, it seems like a ‘true sedan shape’ which gives the feel of a ‘higher-class car’ but still remains in the compact sedan segment.
The new Amaze gets slim LED headlamps which also include LED daytime running lamps flanking a bold and wide hexagonal grille which is finished in a honeycomb pattern. The front bumper is sharp and there are large air dam recesses on each corner. In profile, the facelifted Amaze comes with new alloy wheels. Rear combination lamps and large Amaze badging in the centre give the car a sporty look.
New Honda Amaze: Interior
The interior of the new Honda Amaze is quite spacious and modern. Its dashboard layout is similar to that of the Elevate but the upholstery and trim options are different. Talking about features, the new Amaze comes with a floating touchscreen infotainment system, semi-digital instrument cluster, automatic climate control, HVAC panel, 3-spoke steering wheel, sound system, Type C charging ports, and wireless charging. Wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity could also be available at the time of launch. For safety, it could get an ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems) suite, which would be a segment-first feature for the Amaze.
New Honda Amaze: Powertrain
Under the hood, the new Honda Amaze will get a 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine paired to a 5-speed manual or CVT gearbox. Honda will likely add a CNG powertrain to the lineup later.
When launched, the facelifted Amaze will compete in the sedan segment against the Hyundai Aura, Tata Tigo, and the new Maruti Suzuki Dzire.
