Maruti Suzuki has unveiled its updated compact sedan, the Dzire, which is set to be launched on November 11. In its new avatar, the Maruti Suzuki car benefits from new design, technology, and powertrain. It is now more fuel-efficient than the old model (22.41km/l–22.61km/l), and now has mileage of 24.79km/l (MT), and 25.71km/l (AT). Bookings for the sedan are now open, with a token amount of Rs 11,000 being taken, and deliveries will begin soon after the launch. New Maruti Suzuki Dzire: Power
The new Dzire is powered by a 1.2-litre, three-cylinder naturally aspirated petrol engine borrowed from the Swift. This engine generates 80bhp maximum power and 112Nm peak torque and comes mated to a five-speed manual or AMT transmission.

The updated Dzire stands out with its aggressive front bumper, stylish LED headlights that come with horizontal DRLs, a wide grille made up of multiple horizontal slats, and redesigned fog lamp housings. While its silhouette is similar to the previous model, the sedan’s shoulder line is now more pronounced. It also features shark fin antenna, boot lid spoiler, and Y-shaped LED taillights that are connected by a chrome strip.
The interior of the Dzire is done in beige and black theme, and the dashboard gets faux wood accents. It has an analogue driver’s display, cruise control, a 9-inch touchscreen that comes with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility, air conditioning with rear vents, and a single-pane sunroof.

Maruti Suzuki’s updated compact sedan comes with a number of safety features, including rear parking sensors, electronic stability control (ESC), 6 airbags (standard), and a 360-degree camera (segment first). It has 4 main variants: LXi, VXi, ZXi, and ZXi Plus.

With a lot of cosmetic and feature enhancements compared to its predecessor, the updated Dzire’s starting price could be around Rs 6.70 lakh (ex-showroom). It will compete with the Hyundai Aura, Tata Tigor, and Honda Amaze (which is also set for a makeover).
