Rapid Rail for Meerut and Ghaziabad : According to the National Capital Region Transport Corporation (NCRTC), travel from the NCR to Meerut will now be possible as of Sunday, when the Meerut South RRTS station opens for business. The 42 km of the 82 km Regional Rapid Transit System (RRTS) will be operational on Sunday, according to a statement released by NCRTC on Saturday.

According to the National Capital Region Transport Corporation (NCRTC), travel from the NCR to Meerut will now be possible as of Sunday, when the Meerut South RRTS station opens for business. The 42 km of the 82 km Regional Rapid Transit System (RRTS) will be operational on Sunday, according to a statement released by NCRTC on Saturday.

Rapid Rail for Meerut and Ghaziabad ,The first station in Meerut will open around 2:00 pm.

According to an announcement from the NCRTC, passenger operations at Meerut’s first station will begin on Sunday at 2:00 pm. After Modinagar North, the next destination is Meerut South. This eight-kilometer segment brings the overall length of the Delhi-Ghaziabad-Meerut RRTS corridor operational to 42 km. The corridor spans nine stations, from Sahibabad in Ghaziabad to Meerut South in Meerut.

The only routes served by the Namo Bharat train up to now were Ghaziabad to Modinagar North. Now that service has begun in Meerut City, people traveling to Ghaziabad and Delhi will find it easier to get there. These folks will travel to their location more quickly and easily. This will also benefit folks who go to Meerut for employment or education from Delhi or Ghaziabad.

Rapid Rail for Meerut and Ghaziabad ,The completion date of the work is June 2025.

In October 2023, RRTS began operating in a small area of Ghaziabad. Sahibabad and the Duhai Depot in Ghaziabad were 17 miles apart. At least 22 lakh passengers have used this service as of its further extension in March. There will be 25 stations along the whole corridor between Delhi and Meerut. By June 2025, NCRTC hopes to have finished the section between Delhi and Meerut.
